I can not install HST Server using HDP 2.5
I get the following error and can't find any information
Failed to execute command: /usr/sbin/hst setup -q --nostart --nocheck; Exit code: 1; stdout: Level None not available. ERROR: Enter data capture level : Property cannot be blank.
I am using offline Ambari install so hosting own HDP and UTILS
I tried to reinstall smartsense-hst manually but no luck.
Looks like the error is coming out of /usr/sbin/hst-server.py
def validate_capture_level(input): levels_dir = get_conf_property_from_file(agent_conf_file, 'agent.levels_dir') available_capture_levels = LevelManager(levels_dir).getLevels() if not input or not input in available_capture_levels: print "Level %s not available." % input return False return True
Can you share more details of offline ambari install? What version of Ambari you have, what version of SmartSense are you trying to install etc?
tried that already. I get the same validation error. I maybe having issues with the server. I had missing module error first and had to do yum reinstall smartsense-hst. After that, I was able to proceed to the next step which is this error. It is trying to import LevelManager is it open source? For now, I will try to drop Sense from the install list and move on. (BTW removing from selected services drops all configuration. There is no warning if I navigate with <-Back button so have to redo everything...)
Sometimes it may happen because of incomplete package installation (for various reasons including disk space). Can you try re-installing the smartsense package?
rpm -e smartsense-hst yum -y install smartsense-hst
Try restarting it once from Ambari (this will set the appropriate configs).
If this still does not resolve it, I would suggest to open a support case.
I tried that and it did not help. Also, i can not find any documentation for agent.levels_dir. I guess in the ini file it should be
@Yaroslav Chinskiy there's an issue in ambari that may require you to enter in ambari-agent.ini the following
Workaround: Ensure the ambari-agent.ini file has the logdir and piddir configured before the Ambari Agent is started.
let me know how it goes
