HUE 3.11 Installation using Ambari

HUE 3.11 Installation using Ambari

Rising Star

Hi !,

I am using the steps mentioned in the URL: https://github.com/EsharEditor/ambari-hue-service, BUT It's not working.

After I give the command and restart Ambari, I don't see that service to be available via Ambari interface as one of the service to install.

Thanks

Prakash

Looks like HUE is not supported on centos 7, using HDP 2.3.

Is it supported on HDP 2.6. ?

Thanks

Please refer to this is the Command line approach :

https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.6.2/bk_command-line-installation/content/config...

.

From Ambari side we have option to Migrate from Hue to Views... just in case you would like to try that.

The link [ https://github.com/EsharEditor/ambari-hue-service ] that you shared should also work i guess.... as it will act as a custom service.

If you can share more details about the error that you are getting then may be it can be resolved.

Actually I am not getting error when I give this command. But when I restart ambari I don't see HUE service added as an available option. I am running centos 7 with Ambari 2.5

VERSION=`hdp-select status hadoop-client | sed 's/hadoop-client - \([0-9]\.[0-9]\).*/\1/'`
rm -rf /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/HDP/$VERSION/services/HUE
sudo git clone https://github.com/EsharEditor/ambari-hue-service.git /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/HDP/$VERSION/services/HUE

After the above git clone ... step have you restarted you ambari server?

Do you see any error in the ambari-server.log or any kind of info regarding HUE.

Looks like after restarting ambari-server you have not clicked on "Add Service" and then installed the HUE.

Please try this:

1. Run the following command on ambari server host:

VERSION=`hdp-select status hadoop-client | sed 's/hadoop-client - \([0-9]\.[0-9]\).*/\1/'`
rm -rf /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/HDP/$VERSION/services/HUE
sudo git clone https://github.com/EsharEditor/ambari-hue-service.git /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/HDP/$VERSION/services/HUE

2. Restart ambari-server

# ambari-server restart

3. Now login to ambari UI and then click on "Add Service" Button

4. Check the Hue and then proceed with installation.

I tried the same thing but I don't see HUE listed as one of the service. Command executed without any problem. I also tried stopping the Ambari-server first, then gave the command and then restarted the Ambari-server.

Where will it record of its failure..

Does it require HDP 2.5.? I am running HDP 2.3.x

Thanks
