HUE Pig Editor - No logs available

New Contributor

Hi

I'm using the Pig Editor in HUE and queries are running just fine.

The log are beneath the editor won't output anything though. Instead theres a static "No logs available".

I'm able to see the logs through the Job Browser but I really need the logs to show in the Pig Editor.

Do I have to do some special configurations to make this work?

I'm using CDH 5.5.0.

Re: HUE Pig Editor - No logs available

I'd like to revive this as yet unanswered question.

There seems to be an issue with CDH 5.7. I'm running a vanilla cluster - nothing special and a full install. When running pig I do not see the logs. Even if I go over to oozie, I don't get full output. For example if I dump or describe, the ouput never appears.

According to this video (http://blog.cloudera.com/blog/2013/05/demo-apache-pig-editor-in-hue-2-3/), we should be able to see the full pig output as we would normally on the console. That's what's appearing on the page underneath the progress bar while the script is running. All I get is this: No available logs.

I'll continue googling and will post a solution if I figure it out. At this point I consider it an issue with CDH 5.7.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, I have the same problem with cloudera live and Hue 3.9! What is the solution?

Re: HUE Pig Editor - No logs available

I have not checked any new releases or patches (postponed project), but
waiting for a bug fix is the only solution that I know of.

Re: HUE Pig Editor - No logs available

The log fetching was improved in Hue 3.11 and will be even better in CDH5.9
