Having the following issues with Hue

Having the following issues with Hue

New Contributor

Good morning,  Whenever I click on Hue, I'm getting the following:

Configuration files located in /etc/hue/conf.empty

Potential misconfiguration detected. Fix and restart Hue.

hadoop.hdfs_clusters.default.webhdfs_url Current value: http://localhost:50070/webhdfs/v1

Failed to create temporary file "/tmp/hue_config_validation.11446445769762287882"

Hive The application won't work without a running HiveServer2.

HBase Browser Failed to authenticate to HBase Thrift Server, check authentication configurations.

I would appreciate any help resolving this issue -- a step by step instructions would be helpful.

I'm new to Cloudera

Thanks in advance

I noticed that I get this error message under these conditions:

  • running Cloudera Quickstart in Virtual Box
  • put my laptop to sleep without shutting down my Virtual Box first

When I shutdown and restart my VIrtual Box, the error message is gone.

Hi all,

I'm currently experiencing the same issue (same 3 error  message). I'm not finding any solution.

Was this solved? (I did restart my virtual box, same issue)

Thanks for your help,

Mathieu

Hello Virginia,

You need to uninstall Virtual Box AND purge everything related from virtual box from your computer (do a search of Vbox, Virtual, VM on the C).

That worked for me (i was able to work on cloudera last week).

However the same error message poped back this morning...

Hope that help
