Hbase authentication for Hue failing

New Contributor

I'm trying to setup Hbase on the cloudera  test box and  want to  be able to query hbase through Hue.

I followed the steps mentioned in https://www.cloudera.com/documentation/enterprise/5-5-x/topics/admin_hue_enable_apps.html#concept_em... to enable hue for hbase.

I do not want to use SSL rightaway, so haven't provided the values needed for Thrift SSL.

I'm getting the error below when I try to start the hbase thrift server.

+ exec /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH-5.11.0-1.cdh5.11.0.p0.34/lib/hbase/../../bin/hbase --config /var/run/cloudera-scm-agent/process/723-hbase-HBASETHRIFTSERVER thrift start --port 9090 -threadpool --bind 0.0.0.0
Exception in thread "main" java.io.IOException: Thrift server must run in secure mode to support authentication

	at org.apache.hadoop.hbase.thrift.ThriftServer.doMain(ThriftServer.java:95)
	at org.apache.hadoop.hbase.thrift.ThriftServer.main(ThriftServer.java:240)

Can I get some advice on how to enable Hue for Hbase, without enabling SSL?

Thanks
