Hive LLAP enabled using Ambari - fails service check

Hive LLAP enabled using Ambari - fails service check

I have a kerberized cluster - HDP 2.6.1 managed by Ambari.

I enabled LLAP using Ambari with this link - https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.5.5/bk_hive-performance-tuning/content/ch_hive_...

Once completed, I see alerts where it cannot connect. I tried by restarting Hive Service and doing Hive Service check but I still see the same error.

On checking hiveserver2interactive.log:

Caused by: com.google.common.util.concurrent.UncheckedExecutionException: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.io.IOException: Login failure for hive/dchitlangia-hf970-1.openstacklocal@EXAMPLE.COM from keytab /etc/security/keytabs/hive.llap.zk.sm.keytab: javax.security.auth.login.LoginException: Unable to obtain password from user

Further, I see the /etc/security/keytabs/hive.llap.zk.sm.keytab does not exist.

When I enabled LLAP using Ambari, I see the keytab path and filename were added to the site file as shown in the screenshot.

However, it appears the keytab has not been created.

How to fix this ?

Re: Hive LLAP enabled using Ambari - fails service check

Resolved as follows:

1. Regenerated Keytabs from Ambari

2. Updated hive.llap.zk.sm.keytab.file to point to hive.service.keytab file

3. Restart Hive
