Hive query is not working on beeline

One of our developer raised the ticket that he was not able run hive query on beeline., However when i try to access to beeline and run some basic command i am able to do that. What could be the possible cause?

When your developer mentioned that "he was not able run hive query on beeline.,"   then did he receive any error?

Can you please share the complete error stacktrace ?

Without content, it's not easy to imagine the errors your developer encountered as a starting point can he go through this basic documentation to see the different methods of invoking the beeline  commands
