Bump.

Thank you for your help so far!

Update:

I checked if the 8787 port is running. It is.

I tried to run <IP Address>:8787 without firewall on. I still couldn't run R in browser.

I tried service iptables status. I then tried service iptables stop. I still couldn't run R in browser.

I also tried to restart my Sandbox. Nothing worked so far. I would appreciate as much help as possible!

I have this problem with other ports as well. Example: <IP Address>:8000.

After running curl -Is http://IP:PORT| head -n 1 it seems that R UI is not working.

I ran curl -s http://localhost:8787. Nothing happened in shell.

I followed this guide once before: https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/25558/running-sparkr-in-rstudio-using-hdp-24.html. It gives me the following results:

I am currently trying to follow https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/hdinsight-hadoop-r-server-install-r-studio/.

Re: How can I run r in browser?

@Martin Mouridsen

Which ip are you using in browser ?

do a "ifconfig" in sandbox and get the ip.

--> Goto the browser in your local machine and enter the same ip there.

To cross check do a "telnet <sandbox ip> 8020 or 8000 from your local machine to any port which is running in sandbox.

I am using the ip which can be found in on the azure dashboard. Is this wrong?

Are you sure this will work with my Hortonworks Sandbox? As far as I can see, you need to run it from ubuntu og debian, which I have no experience with.

It also seems, that i cannot run some of the comments because I am using Hortonworks Sandbox, and not HDInsight Cluster. Am I doing something wrong?
