How do I use a group name for Ranger Row Level Filtering? (Or, Is it impossible?)

Contributor

I want to use a group name for Ranger Row Level Filtering.

I know using a username for Ranger RLF is available.

Hive UDF "current_user()" works for it.

As far as I know, there isn't a Hive HDF to fetch current group name(s).

Of course, to create a mapping table between group name and user name as a Hive table and to use it in RLF will be work.

But when I want to filter by group name directly in the target table, I feel the mapping table like that is verbose.

I thought implementing a Hive UDF to obtain group names and using it from RLF is cool. but I want to avoid it for now..

Could anyone please give me advice?
