How install Sqoop 1 with Cloudera Manager

Expert Contributor

Hello, I am installing CDH components on a cluster on the Azure cloud using Path B through Cloudera Manager Wizard. I need to import data from a Teradata database thus I've included the Cloudera Teradata connector in the wizard installation. According to the Cloudera Teradata Connector page the connector it is not compatible with Sqoop 2, but the wizard automatically installs Sqoop 2:

Hence, is it possible to install Sqoop 1 through Cloudera Manager? Or do i have to do a manual installation?

Thanks in advance!

1. please add the parcel for sqoop 1

2.  please refer the screen shots.

3. sqoop is basically treated a client tool / gateway role s1 (1).pngCluster -> Click Sqoop 1s2.pngActiion->Add Role Instance -> Select host

Thank you very much! One question: if I navigate in the parcel library folder I cann see all the components of the CDH (including Sqoop 1):

Does this mean that Sqoop 1 is already installed but I need to configure and start the service (maybe through the Cloudera Manager)? Or do I need to add the Sqoop 1 parcel as you described?
