How to generate data by providing a Hive table definition ?

New Contributor

Hello,

I found this presentation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLKdT2WW2-s

I would like to use the tool to generate data by providing the hive table definition.

Where can I find it?

Thank you,

Sebastian

@buzzti , Thank you for your query. Here is the link to the Knowledge article that contains the download to the tool. Please note that this is a Cloudera Knowledge article link and can be accessed only by our customers. We have updated the link in the Youtube description as well.

@VidyaSargur , thank you for the great response. This was helpful.

I tried to download the file "HiveRandom.zip" and was not able to unzip it.

Then I tried to repair the may damaged artifact - without success:

Here is the command I tried to fix and the error messages:

zip -FF HiveRandom.zip --out HiveRandom_fixed.zip
Fix archive (-FF) - salvage what can
zip warning: Missing end (EOCDR) signature - either this archive
is not readable or the end is damaged
Is this a single-disk archive? (y/n): y
  Assuming single-disk archive
Scanning for entries...
	zip warning: zip file empty

Either the zip-file is damaged or I didn't use the correct tool for unzip.

Looking forward to advise.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @buzzti ,

I tried to download the file and was able to unzip the file without issues. What OS are you using? Have you tried to use unzip command?
