How to identify impala query?

How to identify impala query?

New Contributor

We have one requirement - client soft have to pass somehow self id to query and other system read this id from impala logs (sessions or queries).

Is there some query options? We thought to use DEBUG_ACTION for that purpose but cant read it from logs

One option is to include it as a comment in the query text (we've used that trick in some cases, and I've seen other Impala users do it).

We did add a CLIENT_IDENTIFIER option in CDH6.2 that can be set by the client. That was originally  intended to identify the driver version but could be used for your purposes - https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-7666
