How to import Hive metadata to atlas (HDP 2.6.2)

How to import Hive metadata to atlas (HDP 2.6.2)

New Contributor

Upgraded to HDP 2.6.2 and trying to use Atlas for the first time. I can see the newly created Hive DBs showing up in Atlas, but not existing hive DBs.

I am trying to follow the community link for this:

https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/61274/import-hive-metadata-into-atlas.html, but I dont see the path/file in /usr/hdp/current/atlas-server.

atlas-server]$ ls
bin conf data DISCLAIMER.txt docs hook libext LICENSE models NOTICE server

Any suggestions for this?

@Rama Erigindindla,

/usr/hdp/current/atlas-server symlinks to /usr/hdp/<hdp_version>/atlas e.g: /usr/hdp/2.6.2.0-56/atlas

Can you check if hook-bin directory is present in /usr/hdp/<hdp_version>/atlas

One possible cause could be the symlinks were not established right during upgrade.

Please accept and upvote the answer if this helps.

hook-bin directory does not exist, only hook directory exist and it has storm related files.

@Rama Erigindindla did you ever figure this out? I'm facing the same issue.

Look like the hook-bin is actually only present on the server where hive is installed. So you can't run it from just any node.
