How to install Apache Atlas on Amazon EMR?,How can I run Apache Atlas on Amazon EMR ?

Hi,

I am new to Apache Atlas and try to use it with Amazon AWS. I did not find any article which clearly tells about installation of Apache Atlas on EMR. I found one link https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.4.2/bk_installing_manually_book/content/install..., but it is not working.

Could you please tell me what I will do to install it?

Hi,

I am new to the Apache Atlas, and try to use it in AWS EMR. Can you please tell me the details how can I install it to EMR? I saw this post https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.4.2/bk_installing_manually_book/content/install..., where some instructions are given. But it is not working with EMR cluster with RedHat OS.

Are you using HDP? if not which version of Atlas you need to install on Amazon emr ?

Before installing atlas manually, did you add the remote repositories to your cluster?

After adding the remote repositories, you can install using the below link

Please note the above links are with respect to HDP-2.4.2 release.

Please could you try the below

yum repolist all
sudo yum-config-manager --enable epel

Then rerun

sudo yum install atlas-metadata_2_3_*

I can see the error you forgot the last bit after the hdp.repo ......

wget -nv http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/HDP/centos7/2.x/updates/2.4.2.0/hdp.repo  -O /etc/yum.repos.d/hdp.repo

Once you have run this command then you command should succeed let me know as the repos will be visible 🙂
