How to load data into HDFS without using sandbox through ambari?
Can you please elaborate on what you are trying to achieve. If you dont want to use Ambari interface you can use CLI, check this out http://hortonworks.com/hadoop-tutorial/using-commandline-manage-files-hdfs/
I am trying to load data into Hadoop using below link
STEP 2: UPLOAD THE DATA FILES INTO THE SANDBOX
2.1) Select the
HDFS Files view from the Off-canvas menu at the top.
However, I don't see HDFS Files View in the menu at the top. So I am wondering if there is another way to upload data into Hadoop using Ambari?
Let me know
@Sachin Ambardekar if you are not using sandbox, then depending on what version of Ambari you have, you may need to follow the steps to setup the File view. You can find the steps in the documentation. For example for Ambari 18.104.22.168, see here:
If you are having trouble with the web view, you may want to try CLI, here is a tutorial:
For example you could copy a file to HDF using the command line like:
hdfs dfs -put yourfile.csv /user/hadoop/yourdir/yourfile.csv
Another easy way to get data/files into HDFS is by using NiFi or HDF. It makes it very easy to move just about any type of data to/from HDFS. @Neeraj Sabharwal has a nice simple getting started guide with moving local files to HDFS, take a look here: https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/7999/apache-nifi-part-1-introduction.html
For more information about NiFi or HDF, there is plenty of documentation available:
