I use SQL Server Data Tool 2015 and Hortonworks Hive ODBC Driver 2.1.7. The SSRS report without a parameter against Hive works fine. But, it got error when passing a parameter. I have tried a few variations to pass the parameters like hiveconfig, "?" and "$". But, none of them work. Can someone share the solution?

Hi @May Lei,

The syntax you describe is specific to Transact-SQL. The driver supports SQL-92 syntax where parameter markers in the SQL statement are expected to be question marks '?'.

Thus, could you please try replacing @ with ? and then test the query.

ex) select * from table where col1 = ?param
