How to use Sqoop in Hortonworks sandbox 2.6.4?

Explorer

Hi Team,

I have downloaded HDP 2.6.4 on VMware and able to export tsv files and can use HIVE queries .

I would like to use SQOOP functionally . Please advice how can I use SQOOP may be using command line or Ambari.

I am not able to see command line prompt wherein I can write sqoop import .

when I have installed Hortonworks sandbox then I have used root user name and after this I can use Ambari.

Thanks & Regards,

Care Carrer

@Care Career

Have you installed Sqoop Service in your cluster?

The host where you are planning to run sqoop you will need to install "Sqoop Client" .

Looks like you deleted your earlier question which was generic. Your current query is specific to Sandbox.

Please try this:

# ssh root@127.0.0.1  -p 2222
Enter password: hadoop

[root@sandbox ~]# sqoop help
Warning: /usr/hdp/2.6.0.3-8/accumulo does not exist! Accumulo imports will fail.
Please set $ACCUMULO_HOME to the root of your Accumulo installation.

I have just used user name root and it is not taking the password and then it moves to root@sandbox #. After this I can use Ambari. Is something I am missing here?

@Care Career

If you see "root@sandbox" prompt means you are already inside the Sandbox.

The only thing you will need to keep in mind that you use SSH port 2222 only while doing SSH to the host where the HDP/Ambari are installed.

Other option will be to use the web terminal: http://localhost:4200

username : root

password: hadoop

Hi Jay,

I will have to check . One More point Do we need to import OVA file everyday on Virtual server. ? and It really takes time to run services .

Yesterday, I was able to access Ambari and today I am waiting to execute all the services again on Virtual box.

Thanks & Regards,
