Hue and Search - incorrect display of multiValued field

Hue and Search - incorrect display of multiValued field

Explorer

Not sure if this is in Hue, my Morphlines config or an incorrect Solr schema.

Using CDH5.1.2 and indexing some data with Solr / Morphlines / Tika.  A couple of my fields can have multiple values set, so I've set multiValued=true in my Solr schema.

When those fields appear in the Hue search GUI, they appear to have Python 'tostring' characters in them. e.g:

field1 : [u'hello', u'world']

Non-multiValued fields appear fine.  Any clues where the problem might lie?  I suspect it's something at the Hue end as that's the only Python part of the chain.

I guess following on from this:

  1. Does Hue support multiValued fields?
  2. Should I have done something different at the Morphlines stage?  I'm using Tika parsers to extract these fields from documents.

Thanks.

Hue should not change it. To be sure, what do you see if you query the Solr
index directly: http://127.0.0.1:8983/solr/#/

I also see the same issue, I tried apache UI and I do not see any issues (values are clean with no 'u' character) , but hue dashboard displays additional 'u' character for multivalued fields. Is there any way to get rid of these 'u' character ?

Deails I have put here :
