I get this error when trying to start the ipython service

--notebook-dir='/usr/hdp/current/spark-client/' \

--ip='*' --no-browser" pyspark

^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax

NOTE - this is the code in the .py file

[root@sandbox ~]# head  ~/.jupyter/jupyter_notebook_config.py
#!/bin/bash
source /opt/rh/python27/enable
IPYTHON_OPTS="notebook --port 8889 \
--notebook-dir='/usr/hdp/current/spark-client/' \
--ip='*' --no-browser" pyspark

This was an earlier error I received while following the tutorial step by step. Seems unrelated.

ImportError: Entry point ('console_scripts', 'easy_install-2.7') not found
