I need to install CDH 5.2 manually, but need to specify the partitions.

I need to install CDH 5.2 manually, but need to specify the partitions.

New Contributor

Hello All,

Iam doing a CDH 5 1-click Install, need to install hadoop on partitions other than /.

By default everything is installed in /. But when I do automatic partition in Cent OS. its only 50 GB for  / and rest all to /home

Need to install everything in /home.

Secondly, if we do manual partition in of Cent OS, what are the partitions required.

Thanks '

Prasad

You will find that the Path C install method is easiest in this situation

Hi Prasad_kvr

You can actually do it by issuing chroot where you want cloudera installed but I usually just let the cloudera install the packages by default.

Then I change the cloudera default datanode directories to reflect where my SSD drives are mounted to. Example: all my cloudera machines storage locations are in /home/ssd so I insert /home/ssd/dn.

This is what you're looking for correct?
