Impact of changing IP addresses on Kerberized HDP 2.5.5 cluster

New Contributor

We are having to move our Azure VMs to a different area and thus it will require changing IP addresses. What's the impact on a kerberized HDP 2.5.5 cluster? Has anyone done this? And what all was required ot get back in business?

If the hostnames stay the same then you won't have any issue. Changing the hostnames will cause issues.

For reference we moved physical clusters between data centers. In the new DC boxes got new IP addresses but had same hostnames. We turned the cluster back on in the new DC and everything worked.
