Impala JDBC on Kudu tables - Is it possible to use a subclass of java.sql.Timestamp?

Explorer

Hi,

It is understood that a TIMESTAMP column should map to java.sql.Timestamp type. However, we have the need to use a subclass of java.sql.Timestamp in our Java app. We are surprised to see an error when performing an INSERT when the data is of the subclass type.

java.sql.SQLDataException: [Cloudera][JDBC](11500) Given type does not match given object: 2020-03-01 00:00:00.0.

Could anyone share some insight on what might be going on?

Thanks,

Brian
