Installing HDP using Ambari hanging at install any package

Hi there,

I'm trying to install a HDP cluster using Ambari. I've managed to install the ambari agents in my nodes and configure the services but the install process is not able to install any package. It hungs on the package installation, see an example below:

2018-01-08 10:45:59,056 - Package['hadoop_2_6_3_0_235-libhdfs'] {'retry_on_repo_unavailability': False, 'retry_count': 5}
2018-01-08 10:45:59,062 - Installing package hadoop_2_6_3_0_235-libhdfs ('/usr/bin/yum -d 0 -e 0 -y install hadoop_2_6_3_0_235-libhdfs')

If I go to the node and execute the yum install command it works as expected (to make it work I have to kill manually the yum process that are hanging using kill -9)

I'm using Ambari version:

The processes hangs randomly which I too have observed. Did you try restarting ambar-server?

Thank you for replying @J Koppole,

It turned out that the problem was due to my company's enterprise proxy. I had to configure yum to work under the proxy and then everything went well.

Thank you again for replying!

OK when you said "yum install command it works as expected" I assumed proxy was working. with out that even yum wouldn't work directly.

You're absolutely right. I forgot that the key was to include in my /etc/wgetrc config file the settings for the http_proxy and https_proxy after that everything worked fine.

Thank you for replying
