Can i install HUE and Beeswax apps in my open source apache hadoop installation ? OR is it only for Cloudera ?

Also if i use CDH4 will it suit good for production environment (cdh opensource) ?

Hue is compatible with Hapache Hadoop 1.2.0 and later and is in the main distributions.

Hive might depend on the Hue version (cf. documentation http://gethue.tumblr.com/tagged/release).

CDH4 is used by thousands of organizations and is definitely good for production.

Thanks but can we install HUE in any platform other than CDH4 ?

Re: Installing HUE in Open source Apache Hadoop(Non cloudera) ?

Yes, as said above, any Hadoop > 1.2.0.

Hue is included into Apache BigTop (which ships Apache Hadoop) and in the main other distribution (of course, your mileage might vary).
