Installing cloudera manager and CDH as non default user without sudo access

Installing cloudera manager and CDH as non default user without sudo access

New Contributor

Hi

We are trying to install cloudera manager and CDH using a non default user 'cloudera',  Password less sudo access to this user is against our company's security policies (http://www.cloudera.com/content/www/en-us/documentation/enterprise/latest/topics/install_singleuser_...

We want to install the following CDH services using cloudera :

HDFS, hive, hue, impala, spark, yarn, zookeeper

I know this is a non-standard way of installation, but we don't have any choice.

Did anyone already tried this mode of installation ? and is there any list of directories, or specific permissions needed to be granted to this single user (cloudera) ?

As per the single user mode requirement, it is necessary to configure single user passwordless sudo access which is not possible in our case, can we skip this step ?

Sorry but I have not tried setting up single user mode without the passwordless component.
