Is Sqoop --direct option now supported for Oracle tables containing CLOBs?

Is Sqoop --direct option now supported for Oracle tables containing CLOBs?

Explorer

The Apache Sqoop User Guide (v1.4.6) indicates that "Sqoop's direct mode does not support imports of BLOB, CLOB, or LONGVARBINARY columns. Use JDBC-based imports for these columns; do not supply the --direct parameter)."

Has Cloudera bundled a change so the --direct option can be used to import Oracle tables regardless of the presence of CLOB columns in Sqoop version 1.4.6?

We tried an ingest using the --direct option on a 60 million row Oracle table containing two CLOB columns and the CLOB columns appeared to ingest correctly.

Sqoop ingest performance has been very slow for this table. Performance improved by a factor of 8 using the --direct option and we are seeking ways such as this to improve Sqoop performance.

I have a very simple table with only varchar and int fields with 5 records. This should not be the case.
