In documentation I see that only Ubuntu 12.04 is supported (but it's rather old). Will you support 14.04 or 16.04?
In Hue installation guide you write that it is not supported on Ubuntu (even 12.04). Why? Should I avoid Ubuntu?

@John Dison What version of HDP are you referring to?
HDP 2.3.2, 2.3.4 and 2.4 already support Ubuntu 14
HDP 2.3.2
HDP 2.3.4
HDP 2.4
As for Hue, you're correct, Hue on Ubuntu is not supported. HDP has moved on to use Ambari Views.
You should consider using Ambari Views (part of Ambari) instead, or a supported OS such as RHEL/CentOS 6, Oracle Linux 6 or Suse 11.
Having said that, you may still be able to install Hue on Ubuntu, it just won't be supported.

Okay, I see, thanks!
So Ubuntu is fully supported (except of Hue) and you will release packages for 16.04 when it is out?

Start using Ambari Views as Hue is going to be deprecated at some point.

Okay, no problem with Hue. I am just about to setup a fresh cluster and I want to go with fresh Ubuntu 16.04 so I want to be sure it will be supported.

By the way, do Ambari views allow to monitor users jobs like Hue does?
Or it is suitable only for managing a cluster software?

@Eyad Garelnabi, and what are your plans to support 16.04? Can you estimate (approximatly) when will you share packages for 16.04?
