Is it possible to upgrade hadoop from hdp 2.1.2 to hdp 2.6.5 if ambari is not used ?

Based on the documentation, we do have a manual upgrade path from 2.3 to 2.6.5.

If you have Ambari, then you can perform an upgrade from HDP 2.2 to HDP 2.6.5 release.
