Issue in importing table using impala into hive database even when --hive-database command is given

New Contributor

Below is the code that I am executing. Instead of creating the table in Hive Schema, it is creating a directory in home folder only and if i re-run it, it is not able to overwrite also and throwing "org.apache.hadoop.mapred.FileAlreadyExistsException" error. Any idea why it is not creating a table in mentioned hive schema. I am importing data from SQL Server. Am I missing something?

export QUEUE=" -Dmapreduce.job.queuename=myqu "
export HIVE_SCHEMA=myqu_schema
export PASS_STRING="--username X --password Y "
export CONN_STRING=" --connect jdbc:sqlserver://etc-R2yo-AS10:1433;DatabaseName=E"

sqoop import $QUEUE $CONN_STRING $PASS_STRING --hive-table ZZZZ -m2 --table ZZZZ – --schema dbo --compression-codec=snappy --as-parquetfile --hive-import --hive-database $HIVE_SCHEMA --direct --hive-overwrite --map-column-java $q
