Issues installing Sandbox on VMWare player

New Contributor

I am trying to install sandbox on my VMWare with version - 7.0.0 build-203739.

I opted for "Open existing VM" and given the path of the downloaded image having file "HDP_2.3_vmare_27_10_2015.ovf"

on selecting the same error message is coming "Failed to query source for information".

what could be the reason for which I am not able to open the sandbox image?

My system configuration is RAM:-4GB, OS:- Windows 7 32-bits.

P.S.- on the same machine and VM player I am able to open cloudera image.

@Anuj Malhotra

Please make sure that you download the correct file. Also, 4GB RAM in your laptop and launching Sandbox can cause system hang as your system does not have enough memory.

@Anuj Malhotra There is .tar file when you download vmware file.

You will get something like below.

Thanks for the quick input for the query posted.

Yes, I had downloaded the Image from the mentioned link; which has given me a zip file "HDP_2.3.2_vmare.tar" unzipping the same produced 3 files(capture.png).

Still I am unable to launch the image over my VM.

Also with in the download source link System requirements are stated as :

  • Now runs on 32-bit and 64-bit OS (Windows 7, Windows 8 and Mac OSX)

However, on the installation guide it mentioned as:

  • A 64-‐bit machine with a multi-‐core CPU that supports virtualization. Please look into your operating system’s documentation to verify if you are running a 64 bit OS.

Also attaching the screen for error (err-scr.png)
