I've been attempting to install a single node Metron instance and have been running in to a few issues...
Initially, I had experienced the same error as mentioned here: https://community.hortonworks.com/questions/40022/metron-singlenode-vagrant-installation-error.html
I followed the advice given and hard-coded my IP in the configure_index.yml ansible script located in incubator-metron/deployment/roles/elasticsearch/tasks.
After that, provisioning went rather smoothly and completed without further error.
Everything looks OK in Ambari, so I decided to check out the Kibana dashboard... but it came up empty. So following the advice in the aforementioned thread, I performed the following:
1) edit the elasticsearch parameter at /usr/metron/0.1BETA/metron-ui/lib/public/config.js to be elasticsearch: 'http://<ip>:9200', 2) add the following to /etc/elasticsearch/elasticsearch.yml: http.cors.allow-origin: "/.*/" http.cors.enabled: true 3) restart elasticsearch /etc/init.d/elasticsearch restart
But even after all that, the Kibana dashboard is still empty... Is there anything else I should be doing to get the dashboard to populate?
@Jon Zeolla I had a 0.1BETA tar laying around (downloaded it last year after it was released) and never got around to doing anything with it until earlier this week. Since my initial post, I've downloaded 0.3.1 and will be attempting to get it up and running in the next day or so.
