Kudu-Impala for CDH 5.7

Kudu-Impala for CDH 5.7

New Contributor

Hi,

I'm looking for the prebuilt Redhat 6 RPM version of Kudu and Impala Kudu for CDH 5.7.0.

For Kudu, the latest is here:

http://archive.cloudera.com/beta/kudu/redhat/6/x86_64/kudu/0/RPMS/x86_64/

The version is 0.8-CDH 5.4.0

And for Impala-Kudu:

http://archive.cloudera.com/beta/impala-kudu/redhat/6/x86_64/impala-kudu/0/

The version is 2.6.0-CDH 5.8.0.

It seems like this motley combination seems to install and work fine, but I wanted to check if there were specific builds for CDH 5.7.0.

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

You've found the best versions to use. Those build should be compatible with CDH 5.7.0. Please let us know if you run into any problems or have other questions.

Thanks for the quick response!  Great, I'm assuming that Impala 2.6.0 is similiar to Impala 2.5.0.   I noticed that there is no seperate impala-lzo package for this build. Will http://archive.cloudera.com/gplextras5/redhat/6/x86_64/gplextras/5.7/RPMS/x86_64/impala-lzo-2.5.0+cd... work with my configuration?  (I already have http://archive.cloudera.com/gplextras5/redhat/6/x86_64/gplextras/5.7/RPMS/x86_64/hadoop-lzo-0.4.15+c... installed)

Also are there plans to make a offical set of kudu, kudu-impala, impala-lzo packages for CDH 5.7?  I would really like to get this set of configuration out in our production environment so we can test out kudu in a larger environment.

There is no separate Impala-lzo package. As far as I know one shouldn't be needed. Did you have any problems using the 5.7 package?

We are working towards Kudu with CDH. I expect we'll continue with the current "CDH add-on" style release for at least the next 6 months or so. I don't have much insight beyond that.
