The symlink workaround of the library dependency does not work. This is currently unsupported as per Hive ODBC User Guide:

Only currently supported Linux releases are:
Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® (RHEL) 5.0 or 6.0
CentOS 5.0 or 6.0 o SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 11

Simba is building a new Hive ODBC driver for CentOS/RHEL 7 support:

Have you tried symlink as workaround

ln -s /usr/lib64/libsasl2.so.3 /usr/lib64/libsasl2.so

Do we have an ETA yet on the availability of the CentOS/RHEL7 ODBC driver?

Is there any update on this? We are getting the similar error with RHEL 7.1

rpm -ivh hive-odbc-native-2.0.5.1005-1.el6.x86_64.rpm

warning: hive-odbc-native-2.0.5.1005-1.el6.x86_64.rpm: Header V4 RSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID 07513cad: NOKEY

error: Failed dependencies:

libsasl2.so.2()(64bit) is needed by hive-odbc-native-2.0.5.1005-1.x86_64

,

Is this still the issue? We are having the same problem with RHEL 7.1
