Re: Lost HeartBeats Ambari

We need to make sure below point in heart beat lost host.

  • check firewall status. It should be stop.

service iptables stop

  • check /etc/ambari-agent/conf/ambari-agent.ini file.

in ambari-agent file hostname entry should be

hostname = ambariservernodehost

ambariservernodehost should be present in /etc/hosts file

  • openssl version should be upgraded.
  • Stop ambari-server
  • Stop ambari-agent service on all nodes
  • Start ambari-agent service on all nodes
  • Start ambari-server server

check logs of ambari agent. If even there is problem then please reply me.

hi all,

could anyone please help to resolve this heartbeat issue. I search google and did all advice but still unable to understand reason for failure. adding following of "restarting all hdfs component" link from ambari web ui screen. I don't understand why color is orange. 78490-heartbeat-lost4.png

When I check the location shown in following screen shot (Heartbeat lost5) for mentioned files. they don't exist.

Any help appreciated..

I check logs at /var/log/ambari-agent/ambari-agent.log and /var/log/ambari-server/ambari-server.log. Did find out error message there.

@Artem Ervits @vpoornalingam @Jonathan Hurley

I have similar issues:

1 On the Ambari server page, there are a lot of "Heartbeat Lost".

2 I cannot fire any management action on the page, there just no response after click, say Action-Start All button.

3 The ambari-server and all the ambari-agent are checked to be running.

4 I have tried to restart all the agents and server, no help.

5 I have manually started hdfs and yarn on the cluster, and it's successful. I can get node info on HDFS Namenode UI page and YARN ResourceManager UI page. And I'm able to upload files onto HDFS via copyFromLocal.

6 I did checked the log of ambari-server as well as ambari-client, and did not get a clue.

7 Attached is server log with DEBUG log level and one of the agent log. The cluster is HA configured with 8 datanodes.

@Ye Han

Open a new thread ! you are appending your error to thread opened in 2016 ! In the new thread, it's valuable to have the HDP/ambari versions and also OS's involved HA or not Kerberized etc. Maybe some history whether it had ever functioned correctly?
