Matplotlib won't show

Matplotlib won't show

New Contributor

Hi, when trying to use matplotlib and basemap in a python2 session, calling plt.show() does not show anything at all. In the console, the different updates to my graph appear as normal, but at the end of my code, when I call plt.show(), nothing appears. Right now the backend it is using is ipykernel.pylab.backend_inline, and so far I haven't been able to change it, as my attempts so far have returned

This call to matplotlib.use() has no effect because the backend has already
been chosen; matplotlib.use() must be called *before* pylab, matplotlib.pyplot,
or matplotlib.backends is imported for the first time.

I've tested the code in PyCharm, and it works there, so I hoping to get it working here as well.

Thanks in advance
