Migrating from Flume to NiFi (HDF) ? Syslog setup?

Within flume, the definition/channel/sink paradigm I can wrap my head around. It seems with NiFi, you add a syslog listener, ListenSyslog, that mainly connects via a port definition. Does this mean then I need to configure syslog on the NiFi parent host to ingest remove syslogs on a certain port? Docs/links to point me in the right direction?

ListenSyslog is like the syslog source in flume, its starting a listener on a given port.

You then need to configure something to push syslog data to that host/port where ListenSyslog is running.

Typically that you would be configuring your syslog server to forward.
