Hi,

Depending on your scenario:

- do you use Cloudera Manager to manage CDH?

- do you also want to move Sentry Database?

If you use CM and do not need to move the Sentry database, then you can simply delete the current Sentry and then add a new one which can be configured to read from the same DB.

Don't forget to backup Sentry DB first just in case.

What if we require to move Sentry database from one instance to another?

You will need to migrate the backend database to the new host. How to do it will be subject to which DB you are using. Please refer to the DB vendor for details.

Once that DB migrate is done, then you can remove sentry and add sentry again to the new host as normal.
