NFS stop/start does not work properly using hdfs daemon command line

NFS stop/start does not work properly using hdfs daemon command line

New Contributor

I am using HDP 3.0 cluster .

As hdfs user , when I run hdfs --daemon stop nfs3 command from cli ,it does not throw any error and exit code is also 0.

Same is the case with hdfs daemon start command fro nfs3.

Here is the output from cli :

-bash-4.2$ ps -ef | grep [n]fs3 | awk '{print $2}'

2621235

2621247

-bash-4.2$ hdfs --daemon stop nfs3

-bash-4.2$ echo $?

0

-bash-4.2$ ps -ef | grep [n]fs3 | awk '{print $2}'

2621235

2621247

-bash-4.2$ hdfs --daemon start nfs3

-bash-4.2$ ps -ef | grep [n]fs3 | awk '{print $2}'

2621235

2621247

you can see that the process ids of 'nfs3' is not getting changed even after stop/start of nfs daemon.

Please suggest if I need to export any environment variable along with command.

Thanks
