The first place to check would be your logs. What does it say? You can look at /var/log/hadoop-hdfs/*NAMENODE*

I am having the same problem. From the namenode log
file.

The reported blocks 1196 needs additional 26 blocks to reach the threshold 0.9990 of total blocks 1223.
The number of live datanodes 1 has reached the minimum number 0. Safe mode will be turned off automatically once the thresholds have been reached.

How do I resolve?

Thanks
