Network Configuration for Hadoop

Network Configuration for Hadoop

New Contributor

Hi All,

I try to configure Hadoop.

Is there any specific network configuration required between Name node and data node to know like heart beat information ,datanode alive status?

Is there any concept of Private IP in hadoop.

Thanks

There is no need for specalized network configuration with Hadoop. A single data network for all hosts is plenty. There is no need for low latency connections for things like heartbeats. You are more than welcome to use additional networks for management/security but it is not required.

It is recomended to use 2x1gb nics, bonded for throughput, as a minimum.

Thanks
