Nifi ListenSyslog not recieving any data

Nifi ListenSyslog not recieving any data

I have Nifi 1.5 running on a Windows 2016 server. The ListenSyslog processor isn't receiving any data, even when I configure SNARE to send syslog data from the local machine. I have tried UDP, TCP and various different ports. I have also tried sending syslog from an external device (which can access the nifi web interfaces etc so shouldn't be any firewall issues). When I run "netstat -a" from the command line I can see the server is listening on the port I have specified - e.g. "0.0.0.0:1514". Am I missing something basic here?
