Ranger Audit's working, but not seeing HDFS Audit

HDP 2.6, Ranger with Solr auditing enabled. We're able to see the audits for services accessing things like HBASE, but when I specify "HDFS" as the service type I'm getting no audit information. Also it seems as if the policies aren't taking effect.

I have restricted access to a folder, and enabled access in Ranger and the user is still unable to access the file. i'm unable to verify how it's getting accessed because the audit is not showing HDFS.

Any ideas?

Can you confirm the HDFS plugin shows it is active? On the Ranger Admin audit page, you can see when the plugins last updated. Do you see HDFS in the list?
