Is there any recommended distro for install HDP sandbox using docker? I have Ubuntu 16.04 but it seems that it’s build for RHEL/centos distro.
Ubuntu can run virtualbox so yes you can use sandbox on Ubuntu, sandbox comes prepackaged with all the tools you listed. i suggest you start with our tutorials after you setup sandbox http://hortonworks.com/products/hortonworks-sandbox/
So you can use virtual box with Ubuntu and download .ova sandbox file, use Firefox to download the file with .ova extension.
For docker based setup i guess you can refer to the following link: https://deepumohan.com/tech/hortonworks-sandbox-on-ubunu-using-docker/
Hi @Jay Kumar SenSharma , the problem is that I'm testing sandbox in a 8Gb machine so I thought that it would run smooth on docker that in VM. But with Ubuntu I'm facing some issues with I'm trying to start all services from Ambari (specially mysqld), so I was thinking if the docker sandbox was only for centOS/RHEL distros.
