Reinitialize sqoop job counter in cloudera

Reinitialize sqoop job counter in cloudera

Expert Contributor

Can I manually change the value of --last-value for an existing sqoop job in metastore? What If I need to reinitialize it or may be change it to some other value ?

I have it running at:

--meta-connect jdbc:hsqldb:hsql://warehouse.swtched.com:16000/sqoop

How do I update last-modified value for some/all jobs to some value? I understand sqoop does it automatically every time it is executed but I need a way I can may be if can reinitialize as well and then delete data to maintain consistency?

Instead of manually changing last-value you can create a new job and use it instead of the old one. When creating a new job, if you omit last-value it will reinitialized to zero (all records will be imported the first time), or set it to a particular value to cause a partial import the first time.

That's right. But a lot of times I donot just want to create a different job. Since the value is stored in sqoop metastore only, I believe there would be some way to set it to 0?
