Resetting the Ranger admin password from the command line

Resetting the Ranger admin password from the command line

New Contributor

Good afternoon,

A while back I  built a new cluster to test various services. I forgot to jot down the Ranger admin password, and was curious if there is a way to reset it if you don't know the current password? I read through several posts that reference changepasswordutil.py, but that requires you to know the old password. Hoping there is a way to reset it so I don't have to reinstall everything.

@Mickster99 You can reset it by executing below query in backend DB.

update x_portal_user set password = 'ceb4f32325eda6142bd65215f4c0f371' where login_id = 'admin';

Cheers!
