Resume copy of tables in Sqoop

Resume copy of tables in Sqoop

Contributor

Hi Team,

I am importing tables from oracle database to hive via sqoop. Due to network disconnection few tables are unable to copy. How can I continue to copy remaining tables from where it stopped?

Re: Resume copy of tables in Sqoop

Hi @Nilesh, in my opinion the only safe way to proceed is to drop incompletely imported Hive tables and re-import them. Specially if you used multiple mappers per table. If you used only 1 mapper, then you can inspect the imported table in Hive and try to do an incremental import, using for example "append" based on a certain table column.
