How to I achieve Sqoop Oracle Import into Hive Tables - Drop and Recreate Hive Tables on Every Load?

Is this a good practise to do? Instead of incremental updates?

If you use an external table, then you don't have to drop/add the tables. Hive will always show the current data as it exists in the external table. This is the quick and easy approach, but may not meet your needs. There are many benefits to using ORC file formats that you don't get when using external tables.

@AravinthRaj Soundararajan if you want to overwrite a table you can use the

--hive-overwrite

which overwrites existing hive table
