The HDP Cluster created by Hortonworks Cloud for AWS can't add New Services, and can't access all the Ambari Web

New Contributor

I followed the instruction from http://hortonworks.github.io/hdp-aws and created a HDP cluster (HDP 2.5 TP / EDW-ETL, 1 master + 3 workers ). The cluster is up and running successfully. I can scale-up and scale-down the cluster. However, there are two issues:

1. From the Controller web UI, I can't access any of the Ambari Web/View in either Chrome or IE. There is no self-signed Certificate generated and I can't access the web https://master-public-ip/ambari/.

As a work-around, we can access the Ambari web via http://master-public-ip:8080/

2. After accessing the Ambari web, I tried to add new services, say Flume, Storm, HBase. In the last step, after press the "Deploy" button, the button "Deploy" became disabled and nothing to happen (waiting for long time) . We tries several times and no luck.

Can you help out on this?

Hi Like,

The Cloud for AWS Technical Preview product is meant only for the prescriptive cluster configuration types provided out of the box (across HDP 2.4 and 2.5). These are the possible configuration types available.

Were you looking for Hive + Spark + Zeppelin in combination with HBase and Storm, or were you just looking to try those services from HDP as well?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi @jeff, moving forward is the plan to support more combinations and/or flexibility in the combination setup?

Correct, the idea is in the future to include more combinations.
