I am using Cloudera QuickStart VM 5.2 on Windows 7 for learning purposes. My Cloudera VM folder has grown fron 5+ GB to 26GB within few days. I have downloaded only a few MBs of data to run MapReduce examples.
There are so many versions of the below files.
cloudera-quickstart-vm-5.2.0-0-vmware-s00X.VMDX (where x is 0-32).
I want know why so many files created and also need help in cleaning up these files
One thing I noticed that saved some space right from the beginning was this:
Immediately after expanding the Virtualbox VM these were only 2 files:
After importing the applicance in Virtualbox, there was an additional, large virtual disk file:
The original virtual disk file (#2) above never seemed to be used again. So, I reasoned that it could be deleted. I did delete it and had no problems.
