Unable to open Cloudera QuickVM on external hard disk via VirtualBox

New Contributor

Hi All,
I have downloaded the QuickStart VM 5.5 version for Virtual box. But I am unable to open it.

PC Config:

Processor:- Intel Core i3
Ram : DDR3 8 GB,

I have given the VM 4gigs of RAM as per requirement.
Cent OS 6.4 loading bar reaches 100% and the screen remains that way.

I have tried changing the Chipset to ICH9 instead of the default, but no change is seen.
I have also tried giving the VM 5GB RAM, Its still not working.

Any suggesstion will be appreciated!

Thanks,
sk99

Perhaps there is something in our set up guide that can be of assistance. There are a few common issues we have seen on the forums along with their solutions near the bottom of the page. I hope this helps.

 Hi cjervis,

Thanks for replying but I have followed the instructions for installation from the same set up guide!

I have tried running the vm on local machine instead of external drive too.Still not working.

May be the file got corrupted while downloading...I am going try downloading it again.
